Keeping you safe in‑store

We’re doing everything we can to keep customers and team members safe in-store with enhanced COVID‑19 protocols in place. Our stores are following all government health and safety advice to do out bit in helping to reduce the risk and stop the spread of COVID‑19. 

This includes restricting the number of people who can be in-store at any one time. We have a team member to greet customers at the front door and they are responsible for controlling the number of people in-store to ensure we don’t exceed the allowed capacity. They will also provide patients and customers with hand sanitiser.  

As a close contact healthcare provider, we’re also required by the Optometry Board of New Zealand to collect details of all patients and visitors to our store for the purpose of contract tracing to assist in the management of COVID-19. Upon entry to any of our stores, we ask that you scan our QR code and complete our contact tracing register. Your personal information will only be provided to the Ministry of Health and/or the District Health Board upon request.  

Our optometrists and audiology professionals continue to follow health department guidance in relation to wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). As a precautionary measure, all team members will wear a face mask when caring for patients with a heightened rick of COVID-19, including:

  • People over 70 years of age
  • Women who are Pregnant
  • Those with a chronic health condition, such as:
    • Serious respiratory disease such as chronic lung disease or moderate to severe asthma
    • Serious heart conditions
    • Immunocompromised conditions
    • Severe obesity
    • Diabetes
    • Liver disease
    • Chronic kidney disease or undergoing dialysis


If you are a patient with a heightened risk of COVID-19, please let a member of the team know when you arrive in-store.

We have a cleaning roster and stores are following enhanced cleaning and hygiene protocols including disinfecting test rooms and equipment after each patient, cleaning the retail area throughout the day, including frames and hearing aids, and we have hygiene screens in place both at our reception desk and our dispensing desks. 

When your glasses or contact lenses are ready to collect, we now have an express collection or home delivery option if you are not able to come in store or would like to limit the time you spend in store. Just speak to one of our team members about your options and they’ll be more than happy to assist.

Social Distancing In-store

To protect our customers and team members, our stores will be practicing social distancing and we will be limiting the number of people that can be in our stores at one time.

You will find a poster at the front of the store detailing how many people can be in the store at one time. One of our team members will be at the front of the store to assist customers.
