National Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Supporting Retirement Village Residents

At Specsavers Audiology, we believe that expert hearing care should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we are proud to partner with the National Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (NFDHH) to bring essential hearing health support directly to retirement villages across New Zealand.

Raising awareness about hearing health

This partnership is dedicated to raising awareness about hearing health, providing easy access to hearing screenings, and ensuring residents have the information they need to make informed decisions about their hearing. Together with NFDHH, we aim to normalise the use of hearing aids and encourage open conversations about hearing loss, helping more people reconnect with the moments that matter most.

Hearing Health Workshops

Specsavers Audiology is proud to be partnering with NFDHH to bring hearing health workshops to retirement villages. These workshops include free* hearing screenings, educational resources and guidance on hearing solutions, including hearing aids. By bringing these services directly to residents, we make expert hearing care more convenient and accessible, reducing barriers that may prevent people from seeking support.

About the National Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (NFDHH)

The National Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing is dedicated to empowering people who are Deaf or hard of hearing. Their mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals living with hearing loss and advocate for inclusivity and support for the Deaf community in New Zealand. The Foundation focuses on a wide range of services, including promoting hearing awareness, providing education, and advancing policies that improve the lives of those with hearing loss.

By partnering with NFDHH, we align with their commitment to making hearing care more accessible and advocating for the rights of those who experience hearing loss. Their invaluable work helps ensure that more people, regardless of their hearing abilities, can access the support they need to maintain their independence and quality of life.

Empowering retirement village residents

It’s important to us to empower retirement village residents with knowledge and options, ensuring they feel confident in their hearing journey. By working closely with NFDHH, we strengthen our commitment to delivering expert audiology services and supporting communities in need. We understand the importance of hearing in maintaining social connections, engaging in meaningful conversations, and fully participating in everyday life.

Our commitment to accessible hearing care

By partnering with NFDHH, we continue to break down barriers to hearing care and ensure that more New Zealanders have access to the support they need.
