Claim subsidised glasses for kids

If you are a holder of a valid Community Services Card, you can get funding towards the cost of your child’s glasses and eye test through the Children’s Spectacle Subsidy, provided they are 15 years old or under.

Free eye test

Comprehensive eye tests are free, valued at $60. We include an OCT advanced 3D eye scan as part of every comprehensive eye test, at no extra charge.

2 complete pairs

Kids can get 2 pairs of single‑vision glasses from $169.

Free eye test for under 16s

Applies to comprehensive eye tests only, valued at $60. Excludes contact lens examinations and visual field checks. Limited to one per child every year.


Subsidised glasses for under 16s

The Children’s Spectacle Subsidy applies to children 15 years old or younger with a parent or guardian who is a Community Services Card holder or if the child is a current high use health card holder and meets Disability Support Services’ (DSS) eligibility criteria and clinical guidelines. A valid Community Services Card or high use health card must be presented at time of purchase. If you have already used your subsidy in the past 12 months you cannot claim this offer.
