Help and frequently asked questions

I have just discovered that the prescription I was given for my spectacles is different from my contact lens prescription, is this right?

It is often necessary to have two different prescriptions for specs and contact lenses because of the way that they work with the eye. Contact lenses are in contact with the eye whereas specs are further away, hence the prescription your optometrist will give you may be different because of the way your eye focuses through the respective lenses.
