Your guide to statement-making frames for Summer 22/23

Eyewear can be a game changing accessory and summer presents the perfect time of year to alter your look. Whether it’s an every-day optical or an eye-catching pair of sunnies you’re after, Specsavers has a style to suit every occasion.

Drawing inspiration from global eyewear trends, if maxi vintage is your vibe, you’ll find oversized statement frames, while metal styles with a fun pop of colour are a twist on a timeless classic. For those keen on a retro look, the round shape frames with two toned finishes and contrasting metal details are a seasonal signature.

Maxi Vintage

Maxi vintage is right on trend for eyewear this season and it’s all about statement-making oversized frames. Featuring fresh and vibrant colours and bold, angular silhouettes, these frames are a playful way to dress up any outfit. Whether it’s the temples or the shape, these chunky acetates in vintage styling will have you embodying your best modern-day Jackie-O fantasy.

Colour Meets Metal

Metal frames are a timeless classic that never go out of style.  This season we’re pairing shiny chrome, midnight black and glamorous gold metals with colourful lens tints for a playful pop of colour.

Ask about different lens tints when you’re in store. Opting for a blue or pink tinted lens will definitely get you noticed while the green and pale brown lenses are a much more subtle way to elevate your look.

Take on the sun in style with these Alex Perry sunglasses, inspired by the iconic Aviator look. In a deep square shape, they’re crafted from thin matt-black metal, with a subtle metal stripe detail on the temples. We added a fun blue lens tint to celebrate the season.

Retro Round

Retro round frames have become part of evergreen styling in eyewear. Featuring oversized lenses, two-toned finishes and contrasting metal details, these frames are stylish and a great unisex option. This trend is particularly easy to wear as round frames suit almost every face shape.

Yvy Nguyen, Design & Frame Manager at Specsavers explains the range is right on trend; “Eyewear is such a personal accessory, and we love the trends we’ve been able to pull through for this season. For those wanting to be noticed, the chunky acetates and exaggerated silhouettes are a statement staple, while modern takes on the round frame lend themselves to everyday styling. The coloured lens tints and geometric shapes offer an understated way to change up your look.

“With refresh launches from the likes of Alex Perry, Carla Zampatti and Collette Dinnigan, this new line up really will offer something for everyone,” concluded Yvy.
